Our robotic systems help biopharma companies scale cell therapy production while minimizing regulatory barriers and risks.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing complex automated machinery for pharmaceutical manufacturing. You'll work in a collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art prototyping equipment, extensive engineering materials, and personalized CAD workstations. The role combines mechanical design expertise with electromechanical systems integration.

The position offers a competitive compensation package of $160,000-$185,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. You'll be based in San Francisco, supporting robotic clusters in Palo Alto. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical design expertise, leadership abilities, and a proven track record in developing production-ready machine designs. Additional valuable experience includes FDA-regulated industry knowledge, robot EOAT design, and precision manufacturing expertise.

Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Owning and completing machine design problems including brainstorming and detailed CAD work
  • Analysis of designs including deflections, tolerance stack ups, load capacity
  • Controls and actuator sizing, interfacing, integration, and testing
  • Following ML design best practices, standards, and project management guidelines

Requirements For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software, including modeling and creation of detailed drawings
  • Extensive mechanical design experience developing production ready machine designs
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Working knowledge of mechanical components, engineering metals, plastics, joining methods
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, rapid prototyping equipment
  • Must be a self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Must be very organized and detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle multiple project assignments simultaneously
  • Must be able to clearly express ideas and design details
  • Must be able to provide effective leadership of engineering peers
