This role is crucial for those looking to advance their career in network broadcast and streaming operations, with a focus on quality control and post-production.

As a Technical Evaluator, you'll be responsible for performing quality control on broadcast and streaming assets, working with both SDR and HDR content. The role requires technical expertise with various software solutions and strong collaboration skills.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 years of experience in post-production or broadcast operations, along with proficiency in industry-standard tools like Adobe Premiere CC, After Effects, and UHD-HDR workflows. Knowledge of file formats, codecs, and quality control processes is essential. A bachelor's degree in Video/Film Production or related field is preferred but equivalent experience is considered.

Responsibilities For Technical Evaluator (National Geographic)

  • Perform Incoming QCs on broadcast and streaming assets
  • Conduct QCs on broadcast, streaming and theatrical SDR & HDR assets
  • Troubleshoot technical issues regarding media assets
  • Use various software solutions to access media for technical evaluations
  • Use internal scheduling software and communicate with teams
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • Complete work orders and other duties as needed

Requirements For Technical Evaluator (National Geographic)

  • 2+ years of experience in post-production and/or network broadcast or streaming operations
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere CC, Colorfront Transkoder, After Effects, Tektronix, Vantage, UHD-HDR workflows
  • Basic knowledge of file & tape-based codecs and formats
  • Experience in television production and Quality Control
  • Familiarity with video and audio monitors, waveform and video scopes
  • Knowledge of ScheduAll, Elements, Word, Excel, Outlook and VPS
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Video/Film Production, Communications or related field (preferred)
