Description For Process Engineer

Natron Energy is seeking a Process Engineer to join their innovative battery manufacturing operations. The company specializes in developing cutting-edge sodium-ion battery products with Prussian blue electrodes, serving critical markets including data centers, oil & gas, EV fast charging, and commercial aviation.

The role focuses on supporting production and scaling up their novel battery manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include process development, yield improvement, troubleshooting, and implementing new processes and equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and possess collaborative problem-solving skills.

As a Process Engineer, you'll lead projects for process improvement in battery electrode and cell fabrication, work with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, and implement lean manufacturing principles. You'll be responsible for performing various technical analyses, including DOE, PFMEA, and cycle time studies.

Responsibilities For Process Engineer

  • Initiate and lead projects for process improvement in battery electrodes and cells fabrication/assembly
  • Support new product introduction and process optimizations
  • Implement new equipment, fixtures, and procedures to improve quality and efficiency
  • Perform DOE, process capability, PFMEA, cycle time studies and line balancing
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and SPC manufacturing control plans
  • Analyze workspace efficiency and implement Lean manufacturing principles
  • Determine root causes of product defects and performance issues
  • Lead projects/subprojects

Requirements For Process Engineer

  • Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field (Preferred)
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing of chemicals, batteries, energy systems, or electrochemical hardware
  • Fluency in Six Sigma problem-solving methods and tools
  • Demonstrated experience solving process yield and quality problems
