Responsibilities For Staff Data Engineer

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, efficient and stable data pipelines
  • Develop and optimize service and data architectures, ensuring quality and governance
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Business teams to understand needs and translate into platform improvements
  • Ensure scalability, stability and observability of the data platform
  • Participate in discussions about platform functionality, data architecture and team best practices
  • Handle high complexity activities
  • Lead technical initiatives to unblock the team and improve delivery quality
  • Influence and mentor team members for more effective deliveries
  • Handle incidents to ensure quick return to normal operations and conduct post-mortems

Requirements For Staff Data Engineer

  • Experience in infrastructure and architecture of Data Engineering tools
  • Advanced knowledge of scalability, stability and observability platform practices
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, Scala or similar
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools, large-scale data processing and data lake architectures
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS), infrastructure as code tools and container orchestration
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with DevOps practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
  • Technical leadership skills
  • Communication skills and ability to translate user needs into technical requirements
