Description For Observability Engineer

NetBox Labs is seeking an experienced Observability Engineer to join their dynamic team, focusing on network automation and observability. This role requires 5+ years of experience and deep expertise in Golang, along with proficiency in Python, Docker, and various database technologies.

The position is part of the Observability Team, which plays a crucial role in the company's mission to simplify complex network management. The team is responsible for Network Discovery & Reconciliation, Network Observability & Monitoring, and Agents & Fleet Management, managing both closed and open source projects including Orb, Diode, and pktvisor.

As an Observability Engineer, you'll work in a remote-first environment, collaborating with product owners, the NetBox team, and platform team to create and integrate observability tooling. The role offers competitive compensation ($145K-$185K), equity, and annual bonus opportunities ($10K-$15K).

Requirements For Observability Engineer

  • Deep experience with idiomatic Golang
  • Experience with Python, Docker, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event driven architecture
  • Deep knowledge of observability, monitoring and instrumentation
  • Solid understanding of networking and related concepts
  • Great communication skills, including ability to write technical specifications
  • 5+ years of experience
