NetBox Labs, the commercial steward of open source NetBox, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Observability Team. This role is crucial for their mission to simplify complex network management and automation.

The position requires 5+ years of experience, with a strong focus on Golang development and distributed systems. You'll be working on critical projects like Orb, Diode, and pktvisor, contributing to both closed and open source software. The role encompasses Network Discovery & Reconciliation, Network Observability & Monitoring, and Agents & Fleet Management.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with product owners, the NetBox team, and platform team to create compelling observability solutions. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of observability, monitoring, and networking concepts, along with excellent communication skills.

Requirements For Software Engineer, Observability

  • 3+ years of experience with idiomatic Golang
  • Experience with Python, Docker, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event driven architecture
  • Deep knowledge of observability, monitoring and instrumentation
  • Solid understanding of networking and related concepts
  • Great communication skills
  • 5+ years of overall experience
