Netflix, a global entertainment powerhouse serving 283 million paid memberships across 190+ countries, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer for their Live Broadcast Technology team. This role is crucial in building the foundation infrastructure for Netflix's live streaming capabilities.

As a Broadcast Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing remote and distributed end-to-end infrastructure for live signal acquisition, inspection, validation, and distribution. The role combines traditional broadcast engineering with modern software development practices, making it unique in the industry.

The position requires an experienced professional with 8+ years in live Broadcast Engineering, bringing expertise in IP-based workflows, modern broadcast technologies (ST-2110, NMOS, PTP, JPEG-XS), and networking fundamentals. You'll work with cutting-edge technology while collaborating with various teams including Broadcast Operations, Transmission, and Systems teams.

Key responsibilities include developing innovative broadcast workflows, supporting Netflix Live Ingest Points of Presence, managing cloud-based video infrastructure, and acting as a technical escalation point for live events. The role offers the opportunity to shape the future of live streaming at Netflix, working with state-of-the-art technology and contributing to high-profile live events.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in broadcast workflow technology, strong communication skills, and experience with cloud infrastructure. Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Go, or Python is a plus. Responsibilities For Broadcast Engineer, Live Broadcast Technology

  • Develop and support innovative live broadcast technological and operational workflows
  • Design, build and support Netflix Live Ingest Points of Presence (LiPoPs) and Broadcast Operations Centers (BOCs)
  • Act as escalation point for live event technical issues
  • Monitor and manage cloud-based and hardware-based video infrastructure
  • Manage, build, and evolve ground ingest capabilities
  • Identify opportunities for technical and operational efficiencies
  • Represent Netflix in live production-focused partnerships
  • Develop and maintain live system documentation
