This role is crucial in building data products that provide visibility into security, fraud, and technology risks across customer accounts and internal systems.

The position focuses on enabling security teams in detecting and mitigating various security risks affecting Netflix's cloud technology footprint. You'll work with diverse data technologies including Spark, Presto, Flink, and Kafka to build scalable data pipelines and high-quality data models. The role requires understanding infrastructure topology, access controls, security policies, and usage patterns.

As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for building reliable data pipelines and user-friendly data products that enable stakeholders to leverage data effectively. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in distributed data processing and a passion for improving Netflix's security posture. You'll need at least 2 years of data engineering experience, with proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala (Scala preferred), and advanced SQL skills.

The role offers a competitive compensation range of $170,000 - $720,000, based on experience and location. Responsibilities For Data Engineer (L4) - Security

  • Engineer efficient, adaptable and scalable data pipelines to process structured and unstructured data

Requirements For Data Engineer (L4) - Security

  • Highly proficient in at least one of Java, Python or Scala (Scala preferred) with at least 2 years of data engineering experience
  • Advanced level SQL skills in a complex data environment
  • Experience in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Spark, Presto, Flink etc.)
  • Comfortable working cross functionally with multiple types of stakeholders groups
  • Able to successfully lead large, complex systems design and implementation challenges independently
  • Prior experience in the security space is strongly preferred
