Distributed Systems Engineer (L4) - Data Platform

Netflix, a global entertainment leader with 283 million subscribers, is seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer for their Data Platform team. This role is part of Netflix's initiative to build world-class data infrastructure that powers critical business decisions across the company.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems within Netflix's Data Platform teams, including Big Data Compute Spark, Big Data Compute Engines, Big Data Orchestration, Online Data Stores, and Data Movement Platform. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies like Spark, Presto/Trino, Druid, and Iceberg, solving challenging problems related to data processing at scale.

As a Distributed Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance, reliable, and efficient datastores, while enhancing developer productivity through secure and intuitive access layers. The role involves working with various data processing frameworks and contributing to open-source communities.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems, strong proficiency in Java and RESTful web services, and a solid understanding of multi-threading concepts. A BS in Computer Science or related field is required.
