Full Stack Software Engineer (L5), Media Infrastructure Platform

Netflix is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer (L5) for their Media Infrastructure Platform team. This role is part of the Insights and Experiences pod within the Cosmos Platform team, responsible for cross-cutting experiences and user interfaces. The ideal candidate will work on improving developer experience, optimizing information architecture, and building full-stack solutions for the media processing platform.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing both frontend and backend components of features
• Improving the developer experience of the platform
• Optimizing information architecture of existing interfaces
• Uncovering user needs and building simple, highly usable experiences
• Contributing to engineering-driven product management efforts

The role requires strong full-stack engineering skills, with emphasis on:

• JavaScript/TypeScript experience
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
• Backend development and API design
• Data modeling and handling complex data
• Architectural skills for scalable, maintainable solutions

The Cosmos platform is critical to Netflix, processing every video in their catalog. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions in the media processing space, including observability tools, business insights dashboards, and continuous delivery experiences.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, passionate about building quality products, and enjoys problem-solving. They should be comfortable developing features end-to-end, from frontend JS and CSS to backend APIs in Node/TypeScript or Java.
