This role is integral to the Media Systems Engineering team, which specializes in designing and implementing cutting-edge image and sound technology systems across Netflix's creative environments worldwide.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, from editorial stations to theatrical venues like the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining complex integrated systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing innovative workflows that support Netflix's creative vision.

As a Media Systems Engineer, you'll bring at least 5 years of technical expertise in systems design and integration, with deep knowledge of audio-video signal transmission, networking protocols, and post-production environments. Responsibilities For Media Systems Engineer L4

  • Design, deploy, and maintain image and sound integrated systems and backbone technical infrastructure
  • Partner with construction teams to define facility layout and infrastructure needs
  • Collaborate with business leaders, creative teams, and peer engineering groups
  • Work with partners and vendors to develop creative infrastructure strategy roadmap
  • Implement and support strategic efforts with Studio & Corporate Infrastructure team
  • Engage in remote observability, support and deployment of distributed systems

Requirements For Media Systems Engineer L4

Linux
  • 5+ years systems engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge in audio and video signal transmission
  • Experience with baseband (HDMI, SDI, analog audio)
  • Knowledge of IP protocols (AES67, Dante, NDI)
  • Experience with DSP and imaging/color science
  • Knowledge of AV control/automation systems
  • Experience with theatrical exhibition environments
  • Experience with post-production environments
  • Ability to identify imperfections in A/V signals
  • Strong communication and self-organization skills
  • 20% travel requirement
  • Experience in media and studio environments
