Description For Security Engineer (L4), Cloud Security

Netflix, a global entertainment powerhouse with 283 million subscribers across 190+ countries, is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join their Security Engineering Organization. This role is crucial in securing one of the world's largest AWS environments, focusing on Netflix's streaming service control plane.

The position involves designing and implementing cloud security patterns that enable Netflix's expansion into new business verticals like Live Streaming, Ads, and Games. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you'll collaborate with software engineering teams to solve complex cloud access management challenges and work with platform engineering teams to design innovative security strategies.

The role leverages Netflix's sophisticated cloud security toolkit, including Infrastructure as Code, secure configuration orchestration for IAM policies and SCPs, and cloud access management systems. You'll be part of a team that has developed notable open-source security tools like ConsoleMe, Weep, Repokid, and Snare.

The ideal candidate should have strong AWS security fundamentals, particularly in cloud IAM, and excel in collaborative environments. You'll need to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and take a pragmatic approach to security risk management. Experience with vendor integrations and GCP security is a plus, but formal certifications aren't required.

Netflix offers a unique culture focused on freedom and responsibility, with a compensation structure that allows employees to choose their preferred mix of salary and stock options. The role provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud security technologies while contributing to the security posture of a global entertainment leader.

Working in Netflix's Cloud Security team means joining a group that values empathetic accountability, candid feedback, and inclusive practices. You'll be part of a team that actively contributes to the security community through conference talks and open-source contributions, making a real impact on cloud security at scale.
