Netflix is seeking an experienced Security Engineering Leader to lead the Engineering Controls Automation Team (ECAT). This role involves facilitating long-term strategy and vision, leading and growing a hybrid team of security software engineers, and partnering with other security and platform engineering leaders across Netflix.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the ECAT team, which supports Netflix's ability to move at the speed of show business by taking an engineering-first approach to discovering important risks and automating security controls.
- Deeply understanding Netflix's vast and ever-changing ecosystem and internal customers to focus on high-impact work.
- Right-sizing security risks and providing actionable guidance to meaningfully reduce security risk at Netflix.
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing a talented team of engineers.
- Navigating ambiguity and tackling open-ended problems.
- Creating and maintaining cross-functional partnerships with other leaders.
- Managing a hybrid team of in-person and remote engineers.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience as an inclusive engineering manager with a background in software engineering and security controls.
- Strong technical expertise in software and/or security engineering.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members, help with architectural decisions, and improve code quality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, transparent feedback.
- Experience in managing hybrid teams and creating cross-functional partnerships.

The compensation structure consists of an annual salary, with the option to choose between salary and stock options. The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $920,000, determined based on market indicators and the candidate's specific background and experience.
