Description For Security Software Engineer (L5), Engineering Controls Automation Team

Netflix is seeking a Security Software Engineer to join their Engineering Controls Automation Team (ECAT). This role focuses on building and advancing the engineering security controls automation charter, with a primary goal of reducing the risk of software vulnerabilities in Netflix's vast engineering ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver reliable software to scalably resolve impactful security risks
  • Work cross-functionally with teams across Netflix Security Engineering and Platform Engineering
  • Drive impactful change and risk reduction
  • Take an engineering-first approach to security risk management

Desired Background:

  • Strong experience in software development and delivery, primarily in Python (PySpark experience is a bonus)
  • Proven ability to drive security engineering solutions and reduce security risk at scale
  • History of shaping and delivering thoughtful end-to-end software solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues cross-functionally
  • Experience with data analysis and insights
  • Familiarity with system design and architecture
