Senior Software Engineer (L5) - Content Infrastructure & Solutions

Netflix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (L5) for the Content Infrastructure & Solutions (CIS) team, specifically within the Content MiddleWare Infrastructure team (MWI). This role focuses on the Graph Search platform, a critical Search-as-a-Service infrastructure used by around 70 applications and thousands of end users.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and delivering complex projects from inception to completion
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams
• Making informed decisions in ambiguous situations
• Working full stack, with Java on the backend and TypeScript/React + GraphQL on the frontend
• Maintaining high operational excellence for critical services
• Building platforms, tooling, and infrastructure for other engineers
• Writing clean, well-tested, and performant code

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience in building scalable and reliable search or data infrastructure
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, including indexing strategies and complex queries
• Experience building UI components for other teams to embed
• Deep GraphQL experience
