Description For Senior Technical Narrative Designer, Games Studio (Blue)

Netflix is seeking a highly-skilled Senior Technical Narrative Designer to help build a brand-new AAA multi-platform game. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver an innovative and narratively rich experience for one of Netflix's first generation of internally developed original games. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Creative Director on the narrative vision, drive cross-discipline efforts to spec, build, debug, and tune all narrative systems, develop narrative prototypes, implement content in Unreal/Blueprint, seek workflow improvements, and integrate narrative elements with gameplay mechanics. The role requires 5+ years of experience as a Technical Narrative Designer, expertise with Unreal Engine, significant programming ability, and experience shipping high-quality multiplayer games. Responsibilities For Senior Technical Narrative Designer, Games Studio (Blue)

  • Collaborate with Creative Director on the narrative vision for the game
  • Drive cross-discipline effort to spec, build, debug, and tune all narrative systems
  • Develop narrative prototypes to test new storytelling techniques and mechanics
  • Implement robust, maintainable content and features in Unreal/Blueprint
  • Proactively seek out workflow and tool improvements
  • Integrate narrative elements with gameplay mechanics in a multiplayer experience

Requirements For Senior Technical Narrative Designer, Games Studio (Blue)

Python
  • 5+ years experience as a Technical Narrative Designer
  • 1+ shipped games in UE4/5 as a technical designer, engineer, or technical artist
  • Experience shipping high-quality multiplayer games
  • Expertise with Unreal Engine, especially Blueprint and Sequencer
  • Significant programming ability with C++, C#, Python, Lua, and/or Blueprint
  • Growth mindset and passion for solving complex problems with other people
  • Hunger to learn new skills, serve players, and deliver a world-class experience
