Site Reliability Engineer L4/L5 - Live Streaming Pipeline

Netflix is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (L4/L5) for their Live Streaming Pipeline team. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day live-streaming operations and ensuring the reliability of the live streaming pipeline. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of service reliability/operational experience with large-scale, high-performance systems, focusing on live-streaming and video-on-demand delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving improvements in resilience, observability, monitoring, and automation
• Implementing and analyzing testing for live streaming delivery
• Coordinating with stakeholders for smooth execution of live-streaming events
• Analyzing server and application performance data
• Participating in on-call rotation

Required skills:

• Experience with video transport protocols (RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi, RIST, HLS, MPEG-DASH)
• Knowledge of HTTP cache/proxy technologies
• Expert-level Linux system engineering fundamentals
• Understanding of networking principles and protocols
• Experience with distributed analytic processing technologies
• Proficiency in Python or Go
