Site Reliability Engineer (L5) - Security Engineering

Netflix is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (L5) for their Security Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be embedded in one of the security teams (Identity and Authentication Security, Platform Security, or Trust & Safety) to drive improvements in reliability and resiliency of critical Netflix infrastructure. The successful candidate will own and advance the operational posture of critical security systems, participate in on-call rotation for Live events, implement best practices, automation, and proactive measures to enhance system reliability. Key responsibilities include building robust service monitoring and observability, reducing human effort through tooling and automation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key requirements:

• Proven track record in designing, implementing, and operating scalable and reliable infrastructure
• Experience in analyzing and resolving distributed systems issues
• Expertise in developing automation tools for monitoring, deployment, and incident response
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

The role supports Netflix's expansion into new areas like LIVE streaming events, Gaming, and Ads. It requires flexible working hours based on live events schedules. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leveraging technology to solve business problems and bring unique experiences to enrich the team's culture and diversity.
