Description For Software Engineer 4 - TV & Web Player Platform

Netflix's TV & Web Player Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their innovative streaming technology division. The role focuses on developing and automating tests for video players that deliver industry-leading playback experiences across millions of devices, including Smart TVs, streaming sticks, game consoles, and web browsers.

The team is at the forefront of testing innovative features like Live Streaming, Seamless Ads playback, and Ident innovation. Working in a collaborative environment, you'll be part of a diverse team of engineers bringing expertise across multiple disciplines including embedded systems, streaming media playback, content protection, and test automation.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for improving the video player through sophisticated test development and automation, ensuring high-quality streaming experiences. You'll work directly with browser vendors to validate and troubleshoot the Netflix player across different platforms. The role requires strong technical skills in JavaScript and Node.js, combined with excellent communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $100,000 to $720,000, based on experience and location.
