Description For Software Engineer in Test (L5), Live Testing

Netflix is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to drive the quality of live content delivery. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (L5), you'll focus on creating automation tests for Live events across various devices, run manual tests when necessary, track defects, and communicate results. You'll improve test case coverage, convert manual tests to automation, and collaborate with various engineering teams. The role requires expertise in writing code to automate tests for streaming media applications, proficiency in Python, Typescript, or JavaScript, strong analytical skills, and experience with automated testing frameworks. You'll work on-site in Los Gatos, California, with potential for flexible hours including weekends and holidays. The salary range for this role is $270,000 - $720,000, with additional stock options available.

Requirements For Software Engineer in Test (L5), Live Testing

  • Expertise in writing code to automate tests for streaming media applications
  • Proficiency in Python, Typescript, JavaScript, or similar languages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Good understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Experience with CE devices (Smart TVs, Set-top boxes, or Streaming sticks) is a plus
  • Experience with test management and bug tracking tools like JIRA
