Description For Software Engineer (L4) - CKG

Netflix is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer (L4) to join their Content Knowledge Graph team within Data Science & Engineering. This role is crucial in building and scaling online data systems that support high-visibility data pipelines and products. The ideal candidate will work on a diverse tech stack to create insightful tools, apps, services, and libraries that describe entities, interactions, and usage patterns across the Netflix Knowledge Graph.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services and API layers supporting various front-end user experiences
  • Build intuitive user interfaces backed by data in offline systems and APIs
  • Work with big data technologies on medium to large-scale data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive high-impact outcomes
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve rapid application development

Required Skills:

  • Full-stack development experience, with expertise in backend services
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Node.js
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Familiarity with Python or Java
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hive, Presto, Spark, Iceberg)
  • Understanding of graph technologies (databases, data models, query languages)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
