Description For Software Engineer (L4) - Performance Engineering

Netflix is seeking a talented, full-stack software engineer to join their Performance Engineering team. This role focuses on driving performance optimization and efficiency improvements across the entire engineering organization. You'll work on building cutting-edge observability, visualization, and analytics tooling, including industry-leading performance observability and analysis tools like FlameCommander.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building, enhancing, and operating performance observability, data analysis, visualization, and benchmarking tools
  • Learning, evaluating, and integrating new tools and technologies
  • Engaging with performance engineers and end engineering users to understand their needs and improve their experience
  • Maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional teams through clear communication

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of professional Software Engineering experience, proficiency in Python, Go, and/or Java, as well as frontend technologies like Javascript and React or Angular. Experience with cloud environments, systems and performance engineering concepts, and big data processing frameworks is a plus.
