Description For Software Engineer L4/L5 - Content Finance Engineering

Netflix, the world's leading entertainment service with 283 million paid memberships across 190+ countries, is seeking talented Software Engineers to join their Content Finance Engineering team in Warsaw. This team is crucial in building products that help Netflix plan, spend, and account for their investment in world-class, award-winning content production.

The role focuses on developing systems that enable accurate content budget planning, production budget management, and content spend accounting. Working within the Netflix Paved Path framework, you'll be part of a diverse team of engineers building applications and core services that support all financial aspects of Netflix's productions.

As a Software Engineer in the Content Finance team, you'll design and implement Java-based systems, collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, and participate in product reviews and technical discussions. The position requires expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and both relational and non-relational databases.

  • Design and build systems and services for Netflix's Content Finance using Java
  • Work cross-functionally to build new services, tools and data models to operationalize workflows at scale
  • Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight
  • Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs
  • Evaluate new technologies and approaches to streamline and improve rapid application development
  • Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to incident reviews

Requirements For Software Engineer L4/L5 - Content Finance Engineering

Java
  • Adept at building applications with an Object Oriented language, particularly Java
  • Experience in developing microservice-based distributed systems with high availability
  • Experience in utilizing relational and non-relational data stores
  • Previous experience in Media and Entertainment industry
  • Self-driven and highly motivated to deliver top-tier solutions with minimal guidance
  • Ability to collaborate with Backend and UI engineers, product designers, and product managers
