Software Engineer, Open Connect Edge Accelerator L5

Netflix is seeking a senior software engineer for the Open Connect team, which builds and manages a content delivery network handling over one-third of North American internet traffic at peak times. The Open Connect Edge Accelerator improves latency between clients and Netflix services on AWS, serving as the entry point for device and website traffic.

The role involves working on:

• Latency measurement
• Steering solutions
• Low-latency reverse proxy
• Failover mechanisms
• Protocol optimizations
• DDoS protection

Required skills:

• Deep understanding of Internet protocols (TCP, TLS, HTTP, DNS)
• Experience with highly distributed, scalable, low-latency systems

• Problem-solving abilities during production issues

• Data analysis tools (Hive, Pig, Kibana, Tableau)
• FreeBSD or POSIX environments
