This role represents a unique opportunity to join the Security and Privacy Technical Program Management team, which acts as a crucial force multiplier within the organization.

The position focuses on partnering with the Privacy and Data Protection Engineering team to minimize data risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and cultivate a responsible data culture throughout Netflix. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in privacy and data protection to work alongside an established team of privacy and security engineers, developing and implementing various data management capabilities across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities include managing data inventory and classification, access control, retention, encryption, and de-identification initiatives. The role requires someone who can navigate complex technical and operational challenges while driving the development and adoption of crucial data protection capabilities.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical domain expertise in privacy and data protection with excellent program strategy and execution skills. Whether coming from a software engineering, data engineering, or similar technical background, deep understanding of data management systems and solutions at scale is essential.

Requirements For Technical Program Manager (L6), Privacy & Data Protection Engineering

  • Passion for privacy and data protection
  • Familiarity with technical Data Protection or Governance programs
  • Experience with data inventory and classification, access control, data retention and Privacy Enhancing Technologies
  • Experience driving large-scale technical initiatives on shared infrastructure platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to triage multiple initiatives
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
