Description For UI Engineer (L5), Ads Platform Engineering

Netflix, a global entertainment powerhouse with 283 million paid memberships across 190+ countries, is seeking a Staff UI Engineer for their Ads Platform Engineering team. This role is part of Netflix's strategic initiative following the launch of their ad-supported tier in November 2022, aimed at offering members more choices while creating compelling opportunities for advertisers.

The position sits within the Ads Platform Engineering teams, which are responsible for building sophisticated advertising systems that leverage Netflix's world-class content delivery ecosystem. The team combines unique client and server-side ad insertions, state-of-the-art content delivery systems, and advanced content understanding to ensure optimal ad delivery while maintaining an excellent viewing experience.

As a UI Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of Netflix's ambitious entry into the Connected TV advertising space, working to build distinctive value propositions that set them apart from competitors. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in frontend technologies (JavaScript, Node.js, React) and a deep understanding of advertising domain concepts.

The ideal candidate will bring strong UX/UI design principles knowledge, experience with modern frontend frameworks, and expertise in working with REST APIs and GraphQL. You'll be involved in full-stack development, working in a cloud-based environment, and contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.

Netflix offers a unique compensation structure with base salaries ranging from $100,000 to $720,000, plus the flexibility to choose between salary and stock options.   • Developing through all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial technical designs, implementation, testing, to production deployments
  • Working with advertising systems and integrations that powers the delivery of ads
  • Building highly performant advertising systems
  • Delivering high impact to business by monetizing content

Requirements For UI Engineer (L5), Ads Platform Engineering

JavaScript

  • General understanding of Ad domain
  • Strong understanding of UX and UI design principles
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js
  • Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries, such as React, Angular.js, and Vue.js
  • Experience interfacing with REST APIs and GraphQL End Points
  • Experience working in a cloud based environment
  • Experience with Fullstack development – exposure to REST APIs
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git, SVN, etc
  • Demonstrated excellence of analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Understanding database concepts and data modeling capabilities
  • Experience in test driven environments
