Description For Visualization Engineer (L5) - Content & Studio

Netflix is seeking a Visualization Engineer (L5) for their Content & Studio team within Data Science & Analytics. This role focuses on building and maintaining data storytelling products for Content, Marketing, and Advertising teams. The ideal candidate will own the user experience and data visualizations for internal content reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building beautiful web apps for data explanation and exploration
  • Owning projects and working with stakeholders to create creative solutions
  • Making complex data intuitive for a broad audience
  • Designing and iterating on interfaces with a focus on user experience
  • Working with data from various sources, including APIs and relational databases

Requirements:

  • Experience with Node.js and front-end JavaScript (TypeScript encouraged)
  • Familiarity with component frameworks like React or Vue.js
  • D3 or other visualization experience preferred
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Strong sense of user experience and interface design
  • Basic statistical knowledge and intuition
  • Ability to work with data-centric teams on metrics and analytics

The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most used internal tools at Netflix, bringing together multiple data sources, metrics, and predictive analytics to inform the business about ad performance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with R&D teams to integrate new metrics, models, and data sources.
