As an Electrical Engineer on the Surgery & Robot Hardware Team, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of neurosurgery and neurosurgical implants. The role focuses on designing and implementing critical electrical systems for their custom robot system, which aims to automate the implantation of the N1 implant.

The position offers unique challenges in developing sophisticated hardware systems, including 9 DOF robots, vision systems, optical coherence tomography, and various safety systems.   • Design, verify, and oversee transition to production of custom electronics systems
  • Own creative decisions and execute new projects
  • Work on actuator/robotics stage designs
  • Develop end effectors for robots
  • Create image-capture pipelines
  • Design telemetry systems
  • Implement networking architectures
  • Develop patient sensors/tools

Requirements For Electrical Engineer - Surgery & Robot Hardware Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in full stack ownership of circuit board designs
  • At least one deployed and in-use design
  • Design experience integrating microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoMs into mixed signal PCBAs
  • Experience with UART, I2C, SPI, 802.3 interfaces and camera interfaces
  • Capable of writing basic test firmware
  • Practical electronics design knowledge including EMC, ESD, thermals and packaging
