NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a Technical Lead for their growing Digital Engineering (DE) practice. This role focuses on building high-fidelity Digital Twins using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches for commercial and DoD/Intel customers. The position requires leading a cross-functional team to develop cutting-edge software solutions for DoD mission-critical programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, MBSE, and modeling & simulation, with a strong background in DoD projects. Responsibilities For Digital Engineer Systems Engineer (Technical Lead)
- Lead a cross-functional team including MBSE, MS&A, domain SMEs, software and platform engineers
- Develop program roadmap and manage expectations with customer
- Deliver modeling simulation and analysis integrating Cameo/SysML, Cameo Simulation Toolkit, ModelCenter and/or AGI STK tools
- Apply knowledge of model-based languages such as UAF and SysML
- Lead development of high-fidelity Comms modeling capabilities including emulation
- Lead development of automation capabilities and tying the Digital Thread
- Lead system engineering activities: trade studies, functional analysis, requirement decomposition/allocation
- Work within an Agile Project Management framework and DevSecOps culture
- Collaborate across stakeholders including customers, teammates and partners
Requirements For Digital Engineer Systems Engineer (Technical Lead)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar
- 7+ years of systems and or software engineering experience with the DoD
- 5+ years leading complex DoD projects for software and/or model development
- 3+ years working in Digital Engineering including MBSE and/or MS&A
- Solid understanding of systems lifecycle processes with Comms, RF or mission experience
- Experience developing conceptual, logical, physical (MBSE) or analytical models (MS&A)
- Experience in Agile software systems development
- Ability to work closely with software engineers to evolve the systems architecture
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-facing skills
