As a Systems Engineer at Nexxen, you'll join the Engineering team in Virginia, working on critical infrastructure and systems. Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining Linux-based systems, collaborating with other teams, managing server hardware, and supporting various data stores and messaging systems. You'll also participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support.
The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on Linux, a bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, and skills in Bash and Python scripting. Experience with Ansible, server hardware management, and virtualization platforms is highly valued. The role requires both technical expertise and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based systems infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to deploy critical infrastructure, supporting growth and platform architecture modifications
- Maintain and improve the Ansible codebase that manages the standard system configuration for all Nexxen servers
- Manage server hardware, including replacing failed parts and upgrading servers with new cards, drives, and memory
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices
- Work hands-on with critical enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Pure, and Vast
- Support critical data stores and messaging systems like Kafka, Redis, and Aerospike
- Deploy and manage the virtualization platforms that support Nexxen's products and infrastructure
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support and resolve critical system issues promptly
Requirements For Systems Engineer
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on Linux installation, tuning, and management at scale
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience working in production environments
- Experience with Bash and Python scripting for automation
- Hands-on experience using configuration management systems in production environments (Ansible preferred)
- Experience working with server hardware in a data center environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of baseboard management controllers like iDrac and hardware management interfaces like ipmi and redfish
- Familiarity with common storage systems and protocols
- Experience working with VMware or other virtualization platforms
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
