Description For Field Service Engineer

nGeneration is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Field Support Technician to join their team. This role involves daily visits to client locations for installing, refurbishing, and maintaining various technical equipment in the retail and hospitality industry. Key responsibilities include conducting site surveys, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing excellent client-facing service. The ideal candidate should have experience in IT Technical Support, Electronic Equipment Installation, or a similar field. EPoS experience is desirable but not required, as training will be provided. The position offers a company van, fuel card, and various benefits including training opportunities, annual performance bonus, and 28 days of annual leave. This role requires extensive travel, including potential overnight stays, and a full UK manual driver's license is essential. The work schedule involves 13-hour shifts on a 3 days on, 3 days off rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays. Responsibilities For Field Service Engineer

  • Conduct daily visits to client locations for Breakfix install, refurbish and maintain various technical equipment
  • Travel to client sites to provide on-site equipment swap-out services
  • Perform setup of Wi-Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware, or software issues
  • Document troubleshooting steps and actions, ensuring client sign-off

Requirements For Field Service Engineer

Linux
  • 1 year of IT support experience (preferred)
  • 1 year of EPOS experience (preferred)
  • UK Manual Driving Licence (required)
  • Willingness to travel: 100% (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Technical mindset with logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Experience or knowledge in identifying faults with data network cables
