Description For Field Service Engineer - Harrow

Field Service Engineer / Field Support Technician role at nGeneration, a well-established company delivering technical services and hardware for the Retail and Hospitality Industry. The role involves installing, integrating, and testing EPoS hardware and software applications, as well as supporting and troubleshooting electronic/technical devices/hardware.

Key Details:

  • Salary: £30,057 per annum (Including On-Call Supplement)
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Working Hours: 13 Hour Shifts, 3 Days on 3 Days off rota basis (inclusive of weekends and bank holidays)
  • Locations: North East, North West, Central, South East & South West (UK-wide travel and overnight stays required)
  • Requirements: Full UK Manual Driver's License

Responsibilities:

  • Visit customer sites to install, refurbish, and maintain various types of technical equipment
  • Conduct site surveys and audits for clients
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware, or software issues
  • Set up Wi-Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables
  • Document troubleshooting steps and actions

nGeneration offers a brand-new HQ facility in Tipton, Midlands, with on-site repairs, support hub, staging, and warehousing. The company provides excellent support for Field Service Engineers to perform their job effectively and efficiently.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in IT Technical Support, Electronic Equipment Installation, Telecoms or Broadband Engineering, or similar fields. EPoS experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. The successful candidate should have a technical mindset, logical approach to troubleshooting, and excellent client-facing skills.

Responsibilities For Field Service Engineer - Harrow

  • Conduct daily visits to client locations for Breakfix install, refurbish and maintain EPoS equipment and other IT equipment
  • Travel to client sites to provide on-site equipment swap-out services
  • Perform setup of Wi-Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware, or software issues
  • Document troubleshooting steps and actions

Requirements For Field Service Engineer - Harrow

  • Full UK Manual Driver's License
  • Technical mindset
  • Logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Experience or knowledge in identifying faults with data network cables
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Willingness to travel to client sites daily
  • 1 year of IT support experience (preferred)
  • 1 year of EPOS experience (preferred)
