Description For Field Service Engineer - Reading

Field Service Engineer / Field Support Technician role at nGeneration, a well-established company delivering technical services and hardware for the Retail and Hospitality Industry. The role involves installing, integrating, and testing EPoS hardware and software applications, as well as providing on-site support and troubleshooting.

Key Details:

  • Salary: £29,057 per annum (Including On-Call Supplement & Outer London Living Weighting Allowance)
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Working Hours: 13 Hour Shifts, 3 Days on 3 Days off rota basis (inclusive of weekends and bank holidays)
  • Locations: North East, North West, Central, South East & South West (UK-wide travel and overnight stays required)

Responsibilities:

  • Visit customer sites to install, refurbish, and maintain various types of technical equipment
  • Conduct site surveys and audits for clients
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware, or software issues
  • Setup Wi-Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables
  • Document troubleshooting steps and actions

Requirements:

  • Experience in IT Technical Support, Electronic Equipment Installation, Telecoms or Broadband Engineering
  • Full UK Manual Driver's License (essential)
  • Technical mindset with a logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to travel daily and for overnight stays
