Description For Data Science Engineer

Nielsen is seeking a Data Science Engineer to join their media technology team in a hybrid work environment. This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, big data, and media technology, focusing on building sophisticated recommendation systems and analytics solutions.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with vast amounts of multimedia data, developing and optimizing machine learning models that power content recommendation, user engagement analytics, and ad-tech solutions. As a Data Science Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining machine learning models, developing real-time data pipelines, and implementing sophisticated algorithms for content recommendation and user behavior analytics. Responsibilities For Data Science Engineer

  • Build and maintain machine learning models for content recommendation, user behavior analytics, and engagement prediction
  • Develop real-time data pipelines and ETL processes to process streaming data from millions of users
  • Implement NLP and computer vision models for media metadata enhancement, automated tagging, and content moderation
  • Optimize A/B testing and user segmentation models to enhance audience engagement
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure high data quality for analytics and AI applications
  • Deploy ML models using MLOps practices to ensure scalability and efficiency
  • Ensure there are detailed documentations for every data product delivered
  • Collaborate with product teams to improve search, recommendations, and ad-tech solutions
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends in user engagement and content consumption

Requirements For Data Science Engineer

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, ETL and big data frameworks (Spark, Kafka, Airflow)
  • Experience in machine learning (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Strong understanding of recommendation algorithms
  • Experience building & maintaining Feature store and Model monitoring metrics
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for ML model deployment
  • Experience working with media-rich datasets (video, images, text)
  • Knowledge of A/B testing, personalization techniques, and real-time analytics
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience in data science or engineering roles, preferably in media or entertainment
