Description For Machine Learning Engineer

Nielsen's International R&D team within Data Science's Audience Measurement organization is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on applying and enhancing Nielsen's successful products in digital advertising and content measurement. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be primarily involved in data engineering tasks within the R&D process, working on developing and refining data models for various purposes including imputation and data correction.

The position offers an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams on designing and implementing new audience measurement methodologies. You'll be part of a team that defines and designs product methodologies, conducts research studies, and develops models to integrate different data sources. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Python programming with machine learning experience, along with an educational background in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.

The role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and maintain a big-picture perspective while attending to details. You'll be contributing to complex projects involving multivariate statistics, trend analyses, and sampling automation. The position offers exposure to big data technologies and the opportunity to work with global cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities For Machine Learning Engineer

  • Participating in data engineering tasks for development, test, and refinement of data models for imputation and data correction
  • Participating in processes set-up for new algorithms according to methodologies specific goals
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, implement and test new audience measurement methodologies
  • Document new methodologies and best practices
  • Stay informed of new research and developments in the field

Requirements For Machine Learning Engineer

Python
  • University degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Solid experience with Python or similar languages in machine learning context
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Detail-oriented with experience in data modeling research
  • Ability to problem-solve, work independently, and see the big picture
