Principal Data Engineer - AWS

Nielsen is seeking a Principal Data Engineer - AWS to join their Audience Measurement Engineering platforms team. This role supports the measurement of television viewing in more than 30 countries worldwide. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in programming, testing, debugging, and problem-solving, as well as effective communication and writing skills.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, testing, and supporting complex software solutions for data-driven applications
• Understanding the big picture in an End-to-End environment and adopting standard platform tools
• Working on AWS cloud infrastructure in a DevOps capacity
• Participating in technical planning and requirements gathering
• Supporting Testing and UAT phases and participating in Deployment
• Mentoring and reviewing offshore team members' code and design
• Building complex data-driven applications to ensure accurate data generation for Nielsen's TV, Digital/Internet, and Radio measuring systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 9+ years of experience in software development
• 5 years of experience with Git, SQL, Hadoop, Spark, AWS, and automation technologies
• 3 years of experience with Spark, Python, Test Automation, and CICD Pipeline Development
• Experience with DBT Core, Airbyte, Airflow, and Docker
