Description For QA Engineer (AM-TECH-DA-SDK-104)

Nielsen is seeking a QA Engineer to join their Digital SDK teams, which are responsible for building SDKs for content measurement as part of Nielsen's Audience Measurement. This role will focus on developing services and UIs to support complex entitlement needs for current and future web applications.

As a QA Engineer, you will:

  • Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, robust APIs
  • Write unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks
  • Develop high-quality, well-documented, and efficient code
  • Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
  • Optimize applications for performance and scalability
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders about progress on long-term technology roadmap
  • Recommend systems solutions by comparing custom development and purchased alternatives

Key skills required:

  • 10+ years of experience in test automation and manual QA
  • 5+ years of experience in JavaScript and Java development
  • Strong understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in backend systems, services, and AWS
  • Experience with databases and SQL
  • Ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Familiar with databases
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of computer science and engineering
  • Proficient in developing backend systems and services
  • Proficient in deploying and manipulating systems on Windows and Linux
  • Experience with database systems, with knowledge of SQL
  • Proficient with primary AWS services
  • Ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests
