Description For Senior DevOps Engineer

Nielsen is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team in Bengaluru, India. This role is part of a team that develops software running on over 100k computers worldwide, measuring panelists' activities as they surf the Internet. The ideal candidate will help increase delivery speed, improve code quality/security, and optimize processes for the development team, with a focus on cost avoidance and security.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with Tech Leads and developers to assess and improve existing processes
  • Proactively detecting bottlenecks and production issues
  • Participating in planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement projects
  • Performing daily tasks such as environmental health checks and monitoring
  • Deploying applications using automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Automating repetitive DevOps tasks
  • Collaborating with other DevOps teams and cross-functional teams
  • Mentoring junior DevOps engineers
  • Supporting security best practices implementation for on-prem and AWS environments

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in UNIX-based environments
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Experience with various AWS services and DevOps tools
