This role is part of a crucial team developing software interfaces with major TV streaming providers, downloading thousands of movies and TV shows from US and international platforms. As a key player in Nielsen's streaming measurement strategy, you'll work on video and meta-data capture systems, processing large audio files using proprietary algorithms.
Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring security compliance on the AWS platform. Responsibilities For Sr Software Engineer - AM-TECH-DA-38
- Design and build new features in existing video and meta-data asset capture and processing systems
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
- Enforce coding standards, best practices, and design principles
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in client-side and data upload components
- Optimize applications for remote/unassisted installation
- Mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Implement security best practices for all tiers of the system
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to AWS platform security
Requirements For Sr Software Engineer - AM-TECH-DA-38
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of software development expertise on the AWS platform
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Good experience with SQL and a database system such as Postgres
- Minimum of 2 years developing and deploying applications to the AWS cloud, preferably using Lambda functions
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (GitLab a plus)
- Good problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts
