Description For Sr. Supplier Engineer

Noah Medical is revolutionizing robotic surgery with their next generation robotic platform for early diagnosis and treatment. As a Sr. Supplier Engineer, you'll lead the Supplier Component Qualification Process during NPI commercialization and sustaining phases. You'll create qualification plans, train suppliers, drive requirements, and ensure quality standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing supplier performance, leading supplier changes, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in supplier engineering. Experience in medical devices, particularly surgical robotics, is preferred. You'll work in a dynamic environment with a team of talented engineers from top healthcare companies, contributing to the future of medical robotics.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage component qualification process plans
  • Train suppliers on qualification requirements
  • Drive supplier qualifications and complete project deliverables
  • Coordinate supplier evaluations and manage performance
  • Lead supplier changes and process improvements
  • Select optimal processes and suppliers for parts
  • Execute cost reductions and capacity improvements
  • Assess and qualify alternate materials or suppliers
  • Develop supplier ramp readiness plans
  • Research and recommend new technologies

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years in manufacturing, 5+ in supplier engineering
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing, preferably surgical robotics
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and MS Office
  • Experience with Medical Device Design Control processes
  • Knowledge of sterilization processes
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (GD&T)
  • Understanding of cGMP requirements and FDA QSR
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities For Sr. Supplier Engineer

  • Create the component qualification process plan (CQP) and release the report
  • Train suppliers on qualification requirements
  • Drive supplier qualification requirements and complete project/part qualification deliverables
  • Ensure requirements are met by suppliers per required timeline
  • Review supplier documents and ensure all defined supplier CQP requirements are met
  • Coordinate completion and approval of Supplier Profile Form
  • Maintain supplier performance data with Quality Engineer
  • Initiate suppliers' visits and evaluations
  • Lead supplier changes for mechanical parts/assemblies
  • Select the right process and supplier for parts
  • Work with suppliers to execute cost reductions, capacity improvements, and risk mitigation
  • Assess and qualify alternate raw materials or suppliers
  • Drive suppliers to continually improve their manufacturing process performance
  • Develop supplier ramp readiness plans
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Be the SME (subject matter expert) of the given commodity

Requirements For Sr. Supplier Engineer

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in manufacturing, including 5+ years of supplier engineering or related experience
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a medical device company, preferably in surgical robotics or equivalent highly complex medical devices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent people and project management skills
  • Experience in MRP systems, MS office, and related office automation systems
  • Experience in Medical Device Design Control processes preferred
  • Experience with sterilization processes preferred
  • Experience in leading highly technical projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge in evaluating supplier technical, quality, and business capabilities
  • Extensive experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving
  • Basic working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks or other) software
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of design control and cGMP requirements for medical device manufacturing
  • Ability to travel to suppliers on an as-needed basis – domestic and international
