Description For DevOps Engineer

Northstrat is seeking a highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer with strong knowledge in Linux systems administration and a background in Big Data solutions, configuration management, automation, scripting, PostgreSQL database administration, and AWS. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting development and deployment of infrastructure in AWS
  • Automating deployment processes
  • Managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS
  • Collaborating with development teams
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting production systems
  • Continuously improving processes and tools
  • Staying current with new technologies and industry trends

Requirements:

  • TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship
  • 9+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combinations of education and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, configuration management tools, AWS services, and PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience with application and OS deployment, scaling, and management
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (bash, Python, or Go)
  • Familiarity with Git and deployment pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Understanding of AGILE methodologies
  • Ability to work on-site at Ft. Belvoir, VA 5 days/week
