Description For Physical Design Backend Engineer

NVIDIA, the world leader in accelerated computing, is seeking exceptional Physical Design Engineers to join their Networking Silicon engineering team. This role focuses on developing industry-leading high-speed communication devices that deliver maximum throughput and minimal latency. As a Physical Design Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing groundbreaking chips in a professional, growth-oriented environment.

The position involves sophisticated physical design work, handling complex timing and congestion challenges, and working with RTL2GDS flows. You'll be responsible for block design optimization for power, area, and performance, while working with various aspects of chip development including synthesis, power distribution, and physical verification.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with a strong background in physical design and verification methodologies. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience with RTL2GDS flows and a deep understanding of physical construction and integration. Knowledge of industry-standard EDA tools like Synopsys and Cadence is essential.

Responsibilities For Physical Design Backend Engineer

  • Physical design of blocks according to specifications under challenging constraints targeting for best power, area, and performance
  • Work on variety of challenging designs including high cell count and HS blocks
  • Resolve complex timing and congestion problems
  • Handle RTL2GDS development including synthesis, power and clock distribution, place and route, timing closure, power and noise analysis, and physical verification
  • Participate in flows development

Requirements For Physical Design Backend Engineer

  • B.SC./M.SC. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of proven experience in RTL2GDS flows and methodologies
  • Knowledge in physical design flows and methodologies (PNR, STA, physical verification)
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of Physical construction and Integration
  • Knowledge in Physical Design Verification methodology LVS/DRC
  • Familiarity with physical design EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, etc.)
  • Great teammate
