Description For Senior System Software Engineer - Video Output Image Quality

NVIDIA is seeking a creative and highly motivated Senior System Software Engineer to join their Tegra system-on-chip (SOC) system software group. This role focuses on achieving optimal image quality in video output, requiring expertise in computer graphics, image processing, and deep understanding of color science, graphics software stacks, ASIC implementations, and display technologies.

The position involves working with cutting-edge display technologies including LCD, LED, and OLED, while managing video output through various interfaces like DisplayPort, HDMI, and DSI. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maximizing image quality and will work on developing color correction and management solutions for both NVIDIA and OEM projects.

This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams across NVIDIA, including graphics, system software, and hardware designers, to shape the video output quality of current and future generation products. The position requires strong technical skills in C/C++, graphics drivers, and display protocols, combined with excellent debugging capabilities across various domains.

Key technical areas include working with Linux graphics stack (DRM-KMS, Wayland protocol, Mesa drivers - OpenGL, Vulkan) and experience with HDR technologies (HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision). The role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving to push the boundaries of display technology and image quality.

  • Define, design, develop, test and maintain high quality color correct video output of Tegra products
  • Produce color correction and color management solutions for NVIDIA and OEM projects
  • Work alongside graphics, system SW and HW designers to influence video output image quality for current and next-gen products

Requirements For Senior System Software Engineer - Video Output Image Quality

Linux
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant system software development experience
  • Skilled control over C/C++ and good understanding of graphics video output (display) drivers
  • Good understanding of display protocols (DP/eDP, HDMI etc.)
  • Strong debugging skills across graphics rendering libraries, low-level device drivers, protocol analyzers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
