Description For SOC Design Engineer - New College Grad 2024

We are looking for a SOC Design Engineer! The complexity of chip design has greatly increased over the years, with tens of billions of transistors now packed into a single chip to meet growing computing demands while maintaining environmental responsibility. The NVIDIA System-On-Chip (SOC) group seeks a top ASIC Engineer with curiosity about SOC design automation, RTL integration, chip build and assembly, and padring design and verification. The ideal candidate should have a passion for methodologies and automation solutions that enable optimized SOC creation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build complex GPU and Tegra chips, interfacing directly with unit-level ASIC, Physical Design, CAD, Package Design, Software, DFT, and other teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop system-level methodologies and tools to build SOCs efficiently and scalably.
  • Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities in the front-end chip implementation process and propose solutions.
  • Own front-end design quality checks and reviews to present high-quality RTL to the physical design team.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer or Electrical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience or academic projects focused on RTL Design.
  • Experience or academic projects on System-On-Chip design/integration flow, and design automation.
  • Knowledge or experience in logic design.
  • Demonstrated coding skills in Perl, Python, or other industry-standard scripting languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior SOC Design or ASIC Design internships or experience.
  • Experience in synthesis is a plus.

NVIDIA is widely considered one of the technology world's most desirable employers, employing some of the most forward-thinking and talented people in the world. Join us in our life work to amplify human imagination and intelligence. If you are creative, collaborative, and have a real passion for design methodology and automation, we want to hear from you.

NVIDIA is committed to fostering a diverse work environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
