Description For Speed Modeling and Prototyping Engineer

NVIDIA, the industry leader in high-performance computing, gaming, and AI, is seeking a Speed Modeling and Prototyping Engineer to join their Silicon Solutions Group (SSG). This role sits at the intersection of design, architecture, marketing, and productization, working on groundbreaking solutions for Gaming, Data Centers, Servers, Automotive, and Embedded markets.

As part of this position, you'll be responsible for developing cutting-edge prototyping and validation strategies for chip hardware features, working closely with senior engineers to analyze and implement new features on existing silicon. You'll be involved in understanding silicon behavior across PVT, automating characterization processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including System Architecture, PDE, Application Engineering, and Product Management.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in hardware engineering with an MS in EE, CE, or Systems Engineering, along with experience in silicon bringup and characterization. Technical proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, and Perl, combined with exposure to various operating systems is essential.

Responsibilities For Speed Modeling and Prototyping Engineer

  • Understand chip HW features and intersection with speed characteristics
  • Develop state-of-art prototyping/validation strategies
  • Prototype features on existing silicon and analyze benefits
  • Understand Silicon behavior across PVT and draw correlation to timing
  • Design tools to automate characterization, data collection, test case execution, and results analysis
  • Collaborate with various teams to bring industry-defining products to market

Requirements For Speed Modeling and Prototyping Engineer

  • MS in EE, CE, Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in a related hardware engineering position
  • Experience with silicon bringup, frequency and power characterization, PPA in PreSilicon or PostSilicon phases
  • Experience with tester-to-system correlation, lab tools
  • Familiarity with Perl, C/C++, Python
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, and Android OS environments
