NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated Thermal Engineer for its Advanced Research Group to architect and engineer advanced thermal management and packaging solutions for future accelerated computing server products. As a member of NVIDIA, you will be an integral part of an exciting and collaborative team that defines and develops advanced thermal solutions from concept through to prototype stage, followed by hand-off to Product Engineering for successful developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead thermal design and analysis for multiple advanced thermal solutions involving GPUs, servers, network switches, optical solutions, mid-board optical modules (MBOM), power delivery solutions, and related projects.
- Collaborate with Product Design/Engineering and Thermal Engineering teams to develop requirements and ensure alignment with future product directions.
- Work cross-functionally with Mechanical/Thermal Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Product Designers for effective integration of thermal solutions.
- Conduct thermal simulations, analyses, and modeling using industry-standard software tools.
- Design experiments, develop test procedures, and direct Test Technicians in testing thermal solutions.
- Research methods to improve and optimize cooling systems for thermal performance, power consumption, effective packaging, and total cost of ownership.
- Own the thermal solution roadmap.
Requirements:
- BS or MS (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the IT/electronics industry
- Expertise in designing and building experimental set-ups for thermal solutions
- Deep understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics
- Proficiency in thermal analysis tools (IcePak, FloTHERM, Fluent) and CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
