The Laravel Backend Engineer role involves collaborating with the Dev team to design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionalities following best industrial practices. Key responsibilities include taking ownership of solution design and development for critical components, evaluating and implementing software development best practices, participating in technical support and troubleshooting, and mentoring less-senior developers.
The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in backend development. Technical skills required include proficiency in PHP Laravel Framework, experience with high availability and low latency solutions, strong knowledge of MySQL, and familiarity with AWS and Google APIs. The role also demands excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience working with remote/distributed teams.

Responsibilities For Laravel Backend Engineer - Octopus by RTG
- Collaborate with Dev team members to design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionalities
- Take ownership of solution design and development for critical components
- Evaluate, implement, and enforce software development best practices
- Participate in technical support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Provide technical insights for system integration, including estimations and proposals
- Investigate and fix bugs, refactor code, and improve system performance
- Mentor less-senior developers, offering constructive feedback on pull requests and design documents
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Offer technical support for web and mobile applications
- Embrace continuous learning to keep up with evolving technologies
Requirements For Laravel Backend Engineer - Octopus by RTG
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years in backend development
- Proficiency in PHP Laravel Framework
- Experience handling high availability, concurrency, and low latency solutions using PHP Laravel
- Strong knowledge of MySQL and experience in optimizing SQL query performance
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google APIs
- Experience with version control, CI/CD, and configuration management tools
- Strong debugging skills for both new and existing software
- Experience with high availability, low latency, and scalability requirements
- Experience working with remote/distributed teams and projects
