We are looking for a Node.js developer that has a deep understanding of backend service engineering. In this role, you will build and enhance in-house solutions to automate the deployment of Okta Workflows connectors. These connectors encapsulate automation pipelines for identity management which are used by thousands of customers. You are expected to become a subject matter expert and influence technical solutions and practices across your broader team.

Challenges in this role will revolve around understanding the pain points in the existing operational processes, and building the tooling and automation solutions to ensure that Okta is able to deliver products at high velocity and scale - without compromising on quality, stability, and operational standards. Responsibilities: • Design and develop automation tools for deployment of new and existing connectors. • Work closely with integration analysts, architects, and product managers to understand current pain points in DevOps operations. Then design, spec, build, and test streamlined automated solutions to address these. • Own your code at all stages of the lifecycle - design, implementation, test automation, delivery, and monitoring - to provide high-quality products with zero downtime for internal users • Define and implement development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations • Actively participate in code reviews, retrospectives, and other continuous improvement activities • Collaborate with QA, Technical Support, Documentation teams

Experience and Skills: • 5+ years of experience architecting, building, launching, and maintaining complex systems • Proven experience as a Node.js, Javascript, Typescript • Prior experience designing and consuming REST APIs. • Proficiency in scripting language (Python preferred) for automation and scripting tasks • Experience building tools leveraged by other developers • Experience working with cloud systems at scale. • Excellent grasp of software development and testing principles.

Nice to Haves: • Familiarity with Python • Knowledge in PostgreSQL • Knowledge in Docker & Kubernetes

Education and Training: • Bachelors in Computer Science, or relevant industry experience
