Description For Software Engineer

Opal is revolutionizing access management by building a central hub for authorization that's automated, intelligent, and user-friendly. We're tackling an age-old enterprise software problem with a focus on simplicity, scalability, and security. Our product has gained traction with notable companies like ScaleAI, Databricks, and Figma.

As a Software Engineer at Opal, you'll be part of an experienced team with backgrounds from companies like Slack, Meta, and Samsara. We've secured over $32M in funding from top-tier investors including Greylock and Battery Ventures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing features using our tech stack: Kubernetes, Golang, Postgres, Redis, GraphQL, TypeScript, and React
  • Collaborating with leadership and product teams on roadmapping, architecture, and product discussions
  • Improving engineering best practices and processes
  • Directly interacting with customers for product feedback

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Can design and build end-to-end systems independently
  • Are comfortable with both frontend and backend work
  • Have 4+ years of full-time software development experience
  • Thrive in ambiguous environments with high ownership
