Forward Deployed Engineer - Munich

OpenAI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their growing team in Munich, Germany. This role sits at the intersection of customer success and technical implementation, working with OpenAI's most strategic customers to translate abstract ideas into production applications.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be part of a team that has emerged in response to increasing demand for OpenAI's hands-on technical expertise. The role requires a unique blend of technical prowess and customer-facing skills, as you'll be embedding with customers to understand their domain and co-develop solutions to tackle real problems in evolving problem spaces.

The position demands strong full-stack development capabilities, with expertise in front-end technologies like React and back-end development in Python or Node.js. You'll be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing solutions on customer infrastructure, working closely with various internal teams including Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success Managers.

The role offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week and includes relocation assistance for new employees. You'll be expected to travel up to 50% of the time to work on-site with customers, building strong relationships and ensuring project success.
